Requirements to join the Texas Sixes Lacrosse League are:
Currently Texas Sixes Lacrosse League is open to women’s teams only. There are several organizations that cater to the men’s game whereas, the women’s game is under-representative.
Teams must have:
- Minimum of 5 players and 1 Goalie on the team.
- Maximum of 12 players on the team or at the game in uniform ready to play.
- If a school has enough players to create both a Junior Varsity and a Varsity team, team fees will be reduced to $300 per team.
- Both teams will need to have different uniforms.
- Players cannot switch between teams during the year
- Each team will be responsible for all aspects of being a separate team.
- Both teams will compete against each other in League play.
- No player may play on both teams.
- Players equipment must include a stick, goggles and mouthpiece. Helmets may be worn.
- Mouthpiece color MUST NOT be black, white, red or clear.
- Uniforms should be one solid color of the dominate color of their school. If teams currently have uniforms, the transition to a new solid color uniform should be completed by their 3rd year in the league. Solid color uniform means both the jersey and short, skort or kilt be the same color with numbers on both the front and back of the jersey being a different color.
- Players who wear sweatpants or compression pants must wear the same color, not necessarily the same color as the uniform but, for example, if one player wears grey then all players must wear grey.
- Each player and goalie jersey number must be at least 15cm-21cm high on the front and 20cm-26cm on the back of their jersey. A player’s name is not mandatory. Player’s jersey must have the same number on the front and back. No duplicate numbers shall be permitted on the same team. Numbers on the jersey shall be one or two digits ranging from 1 to 99.
- Teams wear the same uniform at both home and away games.
- Teams will be required to have at least one representative attend any League meetings either in person or on a Zoom meeting.
- Teams must have a Trainer/EMT at their games.
- All players and coaches on a team must have a current membership with US Lacrosse.
Fees:
- League Fees will be $400 for the 2025 year that covers all of the events during the Spring and Fall season. Click Fees to pay for the current year.
- League Fees will be due by end of January of the current year.
- New teams joining after the end of January will be expected to pay the League Fee by end of month they join the league.
Insurance:
- A copy of Team Insurance certificate needs to be filed with Texas Sixes League.
Referees:
- Referees are paid $100 per game, $50 per scrimmage game.
- Teams pay for one referee per game if two refs
- Or one and a half if three refs at their game.
